Taking advantage of the large window panes gracing Itopie Cooperative’s storefront in Geneva Switzerland, we created a new work that embodied Le Corridor in physical form by incorporating our photographs and collages made during our One Year Art Process.
The symbol of the tree became a dialectic between the men fine-tuning computers inside the shop and passersby from the street. Each saw a different dimension of the work depending on the time of day and upon which side of the glass they stood. Light filtering through the windows animated the tree’s kaleidoscopic texture, transcending the interior space into one of quiet reflection. While at night, its colors spilled out onto the sidewalk as spotlights inside illuminated the tree as a place of refuge from the darkness.
